MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, there's much about Runner Up I object to: I think the admittedly exceedingly well-prepared food is boring; I hate eating outdoors in the street; and something that calls itself a wine bar really ought to more than just a few wines available by the glass. But everybody else I know just loves it, so see for yourself At home, have a Martinez: pour 1-1/2 oz. each of Old Tom Gin and sweet Vermouth, and 1 teaspoon of Maraschino liqueur, with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with an orange twist.
