MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Rees: this is another Scaffa, or room-temperature cocktail, which makes a lot more sense in New York in Winter than at any time in, say, South India. Pour 1-1/2 oz. Old Tom Gin, 1/4 oz. Punt e Mes, and 1/4 teaspoon of Absinthe into cocktail shaker WITHOUT ICE. Stir. Strain into a Sherry glass.
