Neo-No Wave noisemaker/visual artist/performance artist Austin Sley Julian looks into the emptiness we now see around us. (I'm horribly alienated and anti-social, apparently, but speaking for myself, I kind of like the emptiness.)

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: The cold-into-not weather is perfect for a Oaxaca Old Fashioned: pour 1-1/2 oz. Reposado Tequila, 1/2 oz. Mezcal, and 1 teaspoon of Agave Nectar, with 1 dash of Angostura bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass over ice. Flame an orange peel into the drink, and garnish with the flamed peel.
