Leila Adu is yet another artist who could be a poster person for this List: she writes contemporary classical, she writes pop — and unlike, say, Leonard Bernstein of a few generations ago, she doesn't convey any impression that she views them as separate pursuits. Here, Adu's trio is accompanied by the PUBLIQuartet.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: If you go to the venue, it'll be nice to walk around the corner to the welcoming and delicious Kind of Soul. At home, have a Polly Fizz: pour 2 oz. Gin and 3/4 oz. each of Grenadine and lemon juice, with one egg white, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker WITHOUT ice. Dry shake. Add ice. Shake some more. Strain into a Collins glass over ice. Top with club soda. It's a little early, but if you have a raspberry, toss it in.
