This program of new song-form vocal music features some personal favorite performers and composers. So please don't think I'm slighting the others when I note my very favorites: composers Daniel Felsenfeld, James Matheson, and Kurt Rohde (three composers who know how to write contemporary music with much immediate appeal). And Charlotte Mundy, one of the most compelling singers anywhere.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: The first time I met James Matheson, whiskey was drunk (at least by me) to ill effect the next morning (at least for me). So, a Horse's Neck: snake a very loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggggg lemon twist around the inside of a Collins glass. Add ice. Pour in 2 oz. Bourbon. Top with Ginger Ale. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
