The considerably talented poet/writer/singer-songwriter Carl Hancock Rux marshals the considerable talents of, among others, Nona Hendryx, Vernon Reid, Lynn Notage, Toshi Reagon, and Helga Davis to celebrate Juneteenth, explore African-American history, and consider what must be done to acheive equity in Amerika (I don't see any non-radical solutions working myself — but I have a feeling Lincoln Center doesn't endorse that view).

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Since the Downtown (these things are relative) Charles Pan-Fried Chicken on West 72nd Street won't be open till at least next month, we'll celebrate Juneteenth at Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar.
