The centerpiece of this Juneteenth show is the world premiere of an operatic piece by Adolphus Hailstork dramatizing the Tulsa Race Massacre, which promises to be powerful in the extreme. And the other pieces are all by favorites of this List: Jessie Montgomery, Trevor Weston (see above), and Alice Coltrane!

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: A red cocktail for Juneteenth, the Bishop: pour 3 oz. gold Rum, 1 oz. red wine, 1/2 tablespoon lime juice, and 1 teaspoon Simple Syrup into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled red wine glass.
