There's nothing worthwhile for me to say about the newly deceased Frederic Rzewski. If you have any interest at all in the intersection of the classical and the demotic; the use of classical music to make radical political statements; classical music as a living, responsive form rather than a means for the bourgeoisie (and worse) to congratulate themselves on their status; classical music as something you want to listen to rather than something that's good for you, then there's nothing more necessary right now than this tribute by Philadelphia's Arcana Ensemble with the mighty Moor Mother to this crucially important (if personally flawed) composer — without whom Your Compiler would very literally not be Your Compiler (for better or worse).

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Piscola: pour 1 oz. Chilean Pisco and 3 oz. Coca-Cola into a tall glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon slice.
