Monteverdi’s posthumous Ninth Book of Madrigals (which may nevertheless have been assembled by the composer before it became posthumous) surveys his career. While the preceding Eighth Book is full of drama, this set hews more to the jewel-like. The splendid ARTEK ensemble will make it sound.
