This List thinks it’s criminal that we so rarely get to hear live performances of the music of Claude Vivier, one of the great composers of the late 20th Century. This is a form of Spectralism that is almost Mahlerian in its scope and emotional impact: something no one else has done. And the Juilliard Symphony is conducted by David Robertson, one of the best out there! Stravinsky’s glittering orchestral showpiece, The Firebird, should give these student musicians a chance to strut their stuff.
