Splinter Reeds is, as you can guess, a wind ensemble. The line-up of composers is estimable: Michael Gordon (a world premiere), Sam Pluta (also a world premiere — with the composer providing electronics), Sky Macklay, and a fascinating Cypriot composer whose works don’t get played here too often, Yannis Kyriakides.
