Leo Chang and Kwami Winfield both play electronics (Chang actually plays a lot of instruments with electronics), but he’s more rigorous (which is NOT to say straight-laced) and she’s more free-wheeling. When they play together, the combination is piquant. Beyond that, it’s Not Your Parents’ string music. Che Buford — a composer/instrumentalist to watch — plays “out” violin. And Kirin McElwain plays way out cello.
