A (kind of) new quartet featuring bassist William Parker, a titan of NYC Free Jazz, dedicated to spontaneously composing a “new folk music” arising out of the extremely varied backgrounds of its members. You’ve got to at least think of going.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, good cocktails and even good food at Grand Army Bar. Streaming at home, have a Queen’s Park Swizzle: muddle 8 mint leaves at the base of a Collins glass. Extra credit: see if you can use a bar spoon to coat the inside of the glass with fragments of the mint leaves. Pour in 2 oz. gold Rum, 3/4 oz. lime juice, and 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup (extra credit if its Demerara), with 2 dashes Angostura bitters. Fill glass with cracked ice. Swizzle with a swizzle stick. Garnish with a lime wedge and some mint sprigs.
