I’m going to drop any (ironic, I hope you realize) pretense to omniscient editorial impersonality and say that Carl Stone is one of my favorite musicians. Playful, happy to engage with pop culture, tickling his listeners when not challenging them. He’s what you’d call an electronic musician, but in these Birthday retrospectives (a different show each night) he’ll also be playing with some (rather celebrated) (in List terms) actual humans.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, a new bar around the corner from Roulette! The Little Pig. Streaming at home, have a Stone Fence: pour 2 oz. gold Rum into a rocks glass over ice. Stir gently. Top with (hard) cider. Give it a tiny stir more.
