Pina Bausch’s epochal, shearing setting of The Rite of Spring — surely one of the best things anybody who’s seen it has ever seen — always had African accents (something Bausch’s legatees emphasized by recruiting a company of reportedly stunning African dancers to dance it just before Lockdown). Now Dada Masilo takes that further, taking off from Bausch’s setting with a new one employing the vocabulary of traditional Botswanan dance. Expect the volcanic.
