Bob Stewart’s tuba solo on Arthur Blythe’s “Lenox Avenue Breakdown” remains, after all these years, one of the very best horn solos in recorded jazz. And if your son is one of the top violinists now playing, won’t you want to play with him? (Brandon Ross on guitar doesn’t hurt, either.)

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  You should at least buy some drinks from the venue.  But if you want some more interesting and substantial food than LunÀtico serves, get some Southern at Peaches.
