Basically I’m just an old man who keeps repeating the same stories. So I was staying once in the Medina of Marakkesh, hanging out on the rooftop of my hotel. Some Gnawi were visiting another guest, and they played their sintars late into the night, inviting me to join their party. I didn’t know anything about Northwestern African desert music back then; and I was entranced by that percussive droning music that sounded Bluesy (and that, as it turned out, was also developed by Africans in slavery). Now you can be entranced, too.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  You should at least buy some drinks from the venue.  But if you want some more interesting and substantial food than LunÀtico serves, nice pizza and tapas at Saraghina.
