There’s no reason for Alvin Singleton not to be played as much as, say, John Adams. There used to be one — a very bad one — but as Singleton wryly notes, over the last few years he’s suddenly gotten played more than ever. Tonight’s show — where a set of solo instrumental pieces by Singleton gets choreographed by a bunch of choreographers including Caili Quan and John Heginbotham — should put to rest any possible claim of tokenism or undeserved promotion (MORONS).
