Well here’s something enticing. An afternoon of viola quintets. So of course there are two of Mozart’s, peaks among both Mozart’s own output and Western Classical chamber music as a whole. Jessie Montgomery’s deathless Strum (it gets played so often in its various configurations because it’s GREAT). And a quintet by Kenji Bunch. And if that’s not enough, the quintet’s violinists are Emerson Quartet founder Philip Setzer and the fantastic Miranda Cuckson; and one of the violists is Kenji Bunch himself!
