We've seen a good deal of the tending-toward-glabrous Iranian-American side of the Mahan Esfahani-Jean Rondeau harpsichord feud. Now it's time for the hirsute French side. Rondeau plays a set of Italian-influenced works by Bach and sonatas by Scarlatti, who was Italian born although his art reached fruition in Spain. Happily, listeners not participating in the feud don't have to chose between these two marvelous players.
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: I'm going to send you back to the surprisingly good Hunan House -- with a reminder to order only from the several "special" menus and not the generic regular ones.
