Anthony McGill, the undisputed star of NYC mainstream classical clarinet, is such a solid musical citizen that he can't help but join wonderful evergreens by Brahms and Weber with a new(ish) work by Jessie Montgomery, who's never written a piece I've heard that's less than vibrant.  Gloria Chien accompanies on the piano.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Now that it's Fall, we can resume drinking Boulevardiers: pour 1-1/2 oz. Bourbon and 3/4 oz. each of sweet Vermouth and Campari into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.  Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.  Garnish with an orange twist.
