Saxophonist María Grand and vocalist Amirtha Kidambi have played together in bands, but this is their first ever duo appearance.  Grand is establishing herself as one of the more interesting new voices on her instrument.  Kidambi's sets at Pioneer Works a couple of weeks ago were particularly invigorating and enthralling, even for her:  you could just feel her and her band's excitement at getting back on stage.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Monte Leone:  pour 1-1/2 oz. Gin and 1/2 oz. each of Gran Classico bitter, blanc Vermouth, and Fino Sherry, with 2 dashes of orange bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.  Stir.  Garnish with a lemon twist.
