Toronto's terrific Baroque ensemble Tafelmusik presents a tribute to scordatura, a variant violin tuning that was one of the many variant instrument tunings in use during that period — another way the Baroque was a direct precursor of the present.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: New Orleans French 75: pour 1 oz. Cognac and 1/2 oz. each lemon juice and Simple Syrup into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Champagne flute. Top with Champagne.
