MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: New York Shrub: pour 1/2 cup Balsamic vinegar into a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cut down the heat and let simmer till it's reduced by half (about 10 minutes). Let cool to room temperature. Pour 1-1/2 oz. Rye, 3/4 oz. lemon juice, 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup, and 1 teaspoon of the Balsamic reduction into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake a lot. Strain into a rocks glass over ice.
