Not only is Ekmeles a great, questing vocal ensemble, but they've also shown a real understanding of how to use remote digital media as a thing in themselves rather than a pale imitation of live performance. The highlight of this program looks to be Phong Tran's Away Message, an ambient visual mixtape about a breakup via AOL Instant Messenger. But let's not forget Kayleigh Butcher and Bethany Younge's Her Disappearance, which is sung through PVC pipes (you've got to see and hear it!). Lots more.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Attention: pour 2 oz. Gin and 1/4 oz. each of dry Vermouth, Créme de Violette, and Absinthe, with 2 dashes of orange bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a lemon twist.
