Pianist Valitutto gives an all-day house concert (in LA, where his house is, it lasts from dawn till sunset). Among the composers to be played are Southam, Mompou, Valentin Silvestrov, and Alvin Curran — so you KNOW it'll be good!

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: Morning Glory: pour 1 oz. each of Rye and Cognac, with 1/2 teaspoon each of sugar and Grand Marnier, 1/4 teaspoon of Absinthe, and 2 dashes of Boker's bitters (or, absent that, Angostura bitters), into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Highball glass. Top with club soda (but go easy). Garnish with a lemon twist.
