A bunch of fabulous musicians, including members of the avant-classical Ensemble and fellow travelers from the Brooklyn avant-jazz scene, get together in two small ensembles. In the first, violinist Josh Modney plays some of his compositions alongside saxophonist Ingrid Laubrock, cellist Mariel Roberts, and pianist Cory Smythe. In the second, bassoonist Rebekah Heller plays along with vocalist Fay Victor. See, I told you all these musicians are fabulous.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: I'm liking the new-to-me Flying Dutchman so much that I'm gonna repeat the recommendation: pour 1-1/2 oz. Genever and 3/4 oz. each of yellow Chartreuse, Bénédictine, and lemon juice into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.
